giulio cocchi

Guilio Cocchi produces vermouth, aperitifs and sparkling wines and celebrates its 130th Anniversary year in 2021. Based in Asti, Piedmont, 2010 is the year they resumed production of their distinctive Barolo Chinato, Storico Vermouth di Torino and aromatised wines using the original family recipes from 1891. All products use a wine base and grapes are estate grown.

Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino Consistently ranking in the top 2 Worlds Best Vermouths (Drinks International) it is easy to understand why the bar world love this drop and consider it an essential ingredient for classic cocktails. The rich amber colour entices and the nose gives vibrant notes of cocoa and bitter orange, gentian and artemisia amongst others such as cinnamon and clove. On the palate balanced bitter and citrusy notes, dried fruit such as raisins and sarsaparilla.

Cocchi Americano Bianco Is widely regarded as the original Americano, and has been made continuously since 1891 using only natural ingredients. To aromatise the Moscato wine, a secret blend of herbs and spices are added to the Moscato base which is then steeped over a period of time. On the nose orange blossom, orange zest, elderflower and gentian. On the palate the bitter orange and Moscato sweetness combine to make a refreshing and well rounded vibrant finish. An excellent aperitif, equally at home on its own, served with soda water and a slice of orange as a spritz or in cocktails such as The Vesper and the Corpse Reviver No.2.

Cocchi Americano Rosa Using aromatic Brachetto D’Aqui as a wine base then fortified and infused with gentian, cinchona and citrus as well as ginger and rose petals with a touch of vanilla. With a pretty natural red colour and wonderful scents of strawberry and cream. The right amount of herbal bitterness makes for a tasty spritz and base for cocktails.

Cocchi Dopo Teatro Vermouth Amaro This Vermouth Amaro is based on the original recipe of Storico Vermouth di Torino where wormwood is enriched with rhubarb, quassia wood, and a double infusion of quina. Barolo Chinato is also added making this unique product with complexity and depth and bringing delicate tannins and a rounded palate to the finish. Served in a chilled glass with just a twist of lemon zest as a digestif. A perfect ingredient to add a touch of bitterness to classic cocktails or to have with dark chocolate.
